Trekking in Nepal

Trekking is the latest style of traveling on the mountains. It offers a number of advantages-an active form of journey, a mountaineering sport form taking threw areas of unparallel natural beauty, spectacular scenery & is about as close as you can get to experiencing other’s cultures, people’s life style. The magnificent backdrops of the Himalayas are home to some of the most exciting treks in the world. The rhododendron-filled, green, dark and deep forests with different seasonal flowers blossoming can catch anyone's eye as can the scattered residential cottages, domestic and forest animals, variety of birds, both Hindus and Buddhist temples, mountains, breath-taking landscape, and above all warm greeting from smiling local people.

The treks would give you a chance to mix with local people and get an insight into their livelihood and culture. A trekking trip can be of any length you choose. Popular short treks are available around the Kathmandu and Pokhara valleys, which only take one, two or three days to complete while longer treks lasting from a week to a month. It is even possible to combine series of popular treks together and walk for months on end.
Trekking in Nepal is an all season activity. It is possible at any time of the year depending on where one wishes to go.

Trekking Information

Planning a Trek

Nepal offers plenty of opportunity for treks lasting a day or less, though most are considerably longer. Around Pokhara or the Kathmandu Valley you can complete the trek within two, three or four days but for the very popular Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Circuit treks you have to allow three weeks.

Trekking Style :
1) Tea house:
We offer basic accommodation & reasonable standard of food at country lodges all along the trails. Our guide & porters lead the trek & carry the luggage & equipment.

2) Full boarded camping trek:
This trek is assisted by our Sherpa crew which includes a guide, a cook, porters or yaks. They take care of all the technical & logistical aspects of the trip. It is our crew’s responsibility to perform all the camp work, prepare the food.

3) Tea house and Camping:
On a few of our teahouse treks the crossing of high passes necessitates camping for a couple of nights. We provide full camping services for these nights and include four season sleeping bags.

Trek Grades :
1) Easy trek:
Involves up to five to six hours a day at a slow but steady pace. This trek does not exceed altitudes above 3500m. Anyone who is in good physical shape can easily cope with this trek.

2) Moderate trek :
Rolling uplands, five to six hours a day walking, with some uphill climbs reaching altitudes of approximately 4500m. Some precious hill walking experience is desirable.

3) Strenuous trek:
Involves up to 8 hours walking a day, generally longer & more strenuous with long ascents & descents. Mountain walking experience and a reasonably high standard of fitness and stamina are essential.
