Mustang Tiji Festival Trek 2012
Mustang Tiji Festival is annually celebrated special festival in Upper Mustang. Lo-Manthang the trade capital of Mustang where the festival is celebrated.
Mustang is a very popular trekking region in Nepal since the Home Ministry of Nepal announced the opening of restricted areas in October 1991. However, there is strict control over obtaining special permits from the Department of Immigration in order to protect local traditions from outside influence as well as to protect their environment. The region of the Kaligandaki, from the Tibetan border south to Kagbeni, is generally referred to as “Upper Mustang”. The trek to Lo Manthang passes through an almost tree-less barren landscape. A steep rocky trail climbs up and down hills with panoramic views of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and several other peaks, making a truly memorable trek.

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu Airport, transfer to hotel, overnight at hotel in Kathmandu
Day 02: Full day Sightseeing of Kathmandu city mainly of Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath, Swyambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square
Day 03: Drive or Fly to Pokhara from Kathmandu
Day 04: Fly to Jomsom and start trek to Kagbeni (2800m)
Day 05: Trek from Kagbeni to Chele (3200m)Entry to the Restricted area of Upper Mustang.
Day 06: Trek from Chele to Geling (3570m)
Day 07: Trek from Geling to Ghami (3500m)
Day 08: Trek from Ghami to Tsarang-Charang (3500m)
Day 09: Trek from Tsarang-Charanng to Lo-Manthang (3800m)
Day 10: 17 May, 2012: Tiji Festival First Day in Lo-Manthang
Day 11: 18 May, 2012: Tiji Festival Second Day
