Mera Peak Climbing
Situated in the Everest region to the east of the main Khumbu trekking trails, Mera Peak stands at 6654m. The trail follows the route from Lukla, ascending the Dudh Koshi river valley, Sagarmatha National Park before entering into the less-frequented wilderness of the Hinku valley. J.O.M. Roberts and Late Tenzing Norgey made the first successful ascent of Mera Peak on 20 May, 1953. From the summit of Mera peak the view is beautiful and visible the peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and Cho oyo. Under favorable conditions, it is possible to climb the peak and descend back on the same day.
Itinerary Details of Mera Peak Climbing
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Preparation day for climbing permits and briefing
Day 03: Fly to Lukla & preparation for next day
Day 04: Trek to Chutenga(3350m)
Day 05: Cross over Zatrela Pass & overnight at Chatrar bu (4340m)
Day 06: Trek to Kothey(3700m)
Day 07: Trek to Thagnak (4356m)
Day 08: Rest for acclimatization at Thagnak
Day 09: Trek to Khare (4900m)
Day 10: Trek to Mera La (5200m) for glacier training & back to Khare
Day 11: Trek to Mera High Camp(5800m)
Day12: High Camp to Mera Summit(6476m) & back to Khare
Day13: Trek to Kothey(3700m)
Day 14: Trek to Chhatrabuk(4340m)
Day 15: Trek to Lukla
Day16: Fly to Kathmandu
Cost Include
